FAQ
What does WHIP stand for?
The meetup name is an acronym and, in full, stands for “Welcome Home Innocent Pervs”.
Who is the meetup for? Is there an age limit?
This is answered in our concept.
Are the meetings in English? Do you offer English meetings?
Our community is primarily German-speaking and we don’t offer English-only meetups at the moment. That said, quite a few of our members enjoy speaking English and we’d be happy to welcome you even if you don’t speak German at all!
What are your rules?
We don’t have rules, but we have given ourselves principles.
What kinds of meetups are there at WHIP?
Currently there is the WHIP meetup, where we meet in a relaxed group at a public location, and Play-WHIP, where we can also play in a closed setting.
How often does the meetup take place?
Each of our meetups currently takes place at least once per month.
Can I come even if I’ve never been to a meetup before?
Of course! There is always a round for new people that starts 30 minutes before the official start. The organizers explain the meetup, principles, and some general information. This lets you get to know the organizers and ask open questions. It also gives you the opportunity to arrive without immediately joining a large, established group. We hope this makes arriving a bit easier.
Is “playing” allowed?
WHIP meetup
At our regular meetup, public play — i.e. living out BDSM practices — should be avoided, since we are in a public place.
Play-WHIP
Here we have the location to ourselves — playing is allowed, but not required. You should be comfortable with the possibility that people might play around you. However, there is no expectation or obligation that people present have to play at all — our principles still apply unchanged as the highest priority. The only hope is that we all have a wonderful time together.
If you play, please be mindful of your surroundings and let’s feel our way together towards what is acceptable for the venue. The current limit of the venue is that play remains non-sexual, i.e. genitals stay covered.
Important
For safety reasons, the location is video monitored during our event. Recordings are automatically deleted after 48 hours and serve only to protect the bar staff in case of incidents.
How do I reach the organizers? How can I get in touch?
Best via email at kontakt@whip-leipzig.de or via our Telegram group.
Note
The invite link is for the “Lounge” and not yet the main group — this helps us avoid bots in the main group. The organizers then manually move people into the main group after a bot check. Feel free to write how you found us or anything you like — bots usually don’t write anything or send shady job offers.
Please note that we may assume an account is a bot if there is no response to our welcome message. In that case, we will remove the account from the channel for now.
Are food/drinks available on site?
The venue offers food and drinks for purchase.
How should I dress?
WHIP meetup
Wear whatever you feel most comfortable in. Just keep in mind that the venue is public.
Play-WHIP
Come in outfits you feel comfortable in, or change into something comfy/fancy/sexy on site if you like — it’s up to you.
I’m nervous to come (alone) — what can I do?
That’s totally okay. If you want, you can ask a friend to come with you. That can make the first step easier.
Does it cost anything to attend?
We ask you to order something at the venue during the evening so they can cover their costs. On average that’s about 10–15€ over the evening. If that doesn’t work for you right now, that's totally okay as well of course.
Are photos/videos allowed?
To maintain a safer space, it is not permitted to take photos or videos of other people.
Is smoking allowed at the venue?
There is no smoking inside the venue, but people can sometimes be found smoking outside.
